Create your first table

  1. Open the app in Shopify admin and choose a furniture, lighting or general template.
  2. Map each row to an existing product field or supported metafield. Starter fields are suggestions; they do not create product data.
  3. Select a real product in the preview. Rename and reorder rows, and choose whether to hide missing values.
  4. Select products or collections where the table should appear.
  5. Save your draft, then publish when ready.
  6. Open your theme editor and choose a product template. Inside Product information (or Product), choose Add block → Apps → Spec table. Save the theme changes, check the product page and switch variants.

Why isn't my table visible?

Check that its configuration is published, the product or collection is selected, and the app block is present on the product's assigned theme template. A published configuration alone does not add the block. If every row has a missing value and hiding is enabled, the table may be hidden.

Drafts and conflicts

Saving a draft does not publish its changes. Use the displayed status to distinguish saved changes from the published configuration. If another tab or staff member saved a newer version, the app asks you to reload instead of overwriting it. Preserve any changes you need before reloading.

Fields and limits

Supported values include text, numbers, booleans, dimensions, weight, volume, dates, URLs, colors, ratings and bounded lists of supported scalar values. Native product category, variant SKU, barcode, weight and options are also available. Lists show at most 20 entries and values are limited to 500 characters. Money, image/file links and bounded file lists are supported. Selected fields from referenced records require MetaSpecs metaobject read access and records available to the storefront. Rich text and nested references are not supported. Each table supports 20 rows and 25 product or collection destinations. One publication can change at most 25 combined old and new destinations; remove and publish old destinations before adding new ones if necessary. Free covers 25 distinct products, counting collection overlaps once. Free collection coverage is fixed at publication, so growing a collection never silently exceeds your limit. Pro has no template or product count cap; collections can cover any number of products.

Assignment priority and rules

An explicit product assignment wins. Otherwise, the first matching automatic rule wins, followed by collection assignments ordered by handle. In Rules, choose exact type, tag, vendor, collection or Shopify category conditions and match all (AND) or any (OR). Preview a product sample to see matches and conflicts. Publishing Rules snapshots the saved table drafts; republish Rules after changing those tables. Ordinary table publishing updates explicit destinations separately. Rules support at most 40 entries, 10 conditions each and 120 KB of configuration.

Translated row labels · Pro

Create a product text metafield for a label, such as custom.spec_brand_label, and give it a default value on the relevant products. Translate that field with Shopify Translate & Adapt or Shopify’s translation API. In the row’s advanced options, enter its namespace and key in Translated label field, then save and publish the table or republish Rules. Shopify selects translations for the storefront language. Missing translations use the field’s default value; blank or unsupported fields use the normal row label. Labels are plain text, limited to 80 characters. The app preview shows the default language; Free uses the normal row label.

Variant values do not change

Place Spec table inside the same Product information (or Product) section as the variant picker, rather than a separate Apps section. Variant updates are scoped to that product section. Save the theme and test a different variant on the product page. If the one-click shortcut cannot find the main section, add the block manually using Add block → Apps inside the product section.

Appearance and compatibility

Choose line or stripe styling in the editor. The theme block offers text size, spacing, color, label-width and collapsible-display settings. An Online Store product template that supports theme app blocks is required. Headless storefronts and POS are not supported.

Pricing

The Free plan includes one template and 25 products. The Pro plan is USD $7.99 per month or $79 per year, with a 14-day trial. Verified Shopify development stores receive Pro features free while in development. Review the actual Shopify approval screen before accepting a charge. No paid public launch has been announced on this page.

Downgrades and billing outages

Every draft stays saved and editable. In Billing, choose the one template and up to 25 products to keep visible on Free. Without a selection, the oldest published template and its 25 lowest product IDs stay active. Coverage is reconciled against Shopify when you open the app or publish, and by periodic hourly checks. Provider failures remain retryable; this is not an instant expiry service. Expiry is not inferred from a local trial clock. A billing outage preserves the last confirmed storefront coverage and blocks new templates and publishing until verification recovers. Your choice restricts existing published assignments; it does not assign a table to new products.

Removal and privacy

Uninstall through Shopify admin to revoke access. Contact support for questions about saved configurations or leftover Shopify metafields. See our privacy policy for data handling and deletion.
